Soccer Tournament in SLO & Camera Testing

We've had a ton of fun things going on lately... too much fun time, not enough blog time. So though it's been a while, here are a couple from the past few months:

Carrie's getting pretty good with the camera we got last year. She was taking some pictures at a soccer tournament I played in, and she got this one... I was pretty impressed! Ball in focus, right in the middle of 3 dudes (looking kind of awkard, actually). Nice work!

We spent some time in Shell Beach a few weeks ago. It was a pretty cold spring morning, but worth the trip. This one little bird was ridiculously courageous. He let me get so close to him without budging. So I just kept clickin' and he kept posing. I think he was on to my schemes, though. Once I got my last shot, he flew off and I came about 6 inches from getting pooped on.

Not white, but still good (and cold!)

Another beautiful Christmas has passed. We had such a good time seeing family. After visiting Bako we headed up north to see the Squires family. Our highlight continues to be spending time with our nephew and niece but of course we loved seeing everyone!

Christmas Eve 2008

Tour de California is in full swing. We're having a great time seeing family and enjoying some vacation time. Here are a few pictures from Christmas Eve with the Chesney/Gloeckler families on Christmas Eve...

Spent the morning blowing away leaves piled up from the fall.

Gloecklers

We did a white elephant gift exchange for the first time as a family. Let's just say - we'll have some good white elephant gift options next go 'round.

Never a dull moment with monkeys around

Mother's Day in SLO

We had quite the eventful Mother's Day in San Luis Obispo. We invited all of Carrie's family (parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins) to join us at the park in SLO to celebrate the moms. My (Greg's) mom came down as well. We had a great time, and as the pictures show, the highlight was the all-too-competitve whiffle ball game, which ended in quite the thrill.

Uncle Dave, showing his bloody lip following the bottom of the ninth, tie-game, 2-out slide at home.... As he raced home to score the winning run, I tagged him out with a diving tag. He ended up with a bloody lip from the dive, and we ironically ended in a tie! I told you it was pretty darn competitive. Great times had by all. (I hope.)

Uncle George at the plate...
