Soccer Tournament in SLO & Camera Testing

We've had a ton of fun things going on lately... too much fun time, not enough blog time. So though it's been a while, here are a couple from the past few months:

Carrie's getting pretty good with the camera we got last year. She was taking some pictures at a soccer tournament I played in, and she got this one... I was pretty impressed! Ball in focus, right in the middle of 3 dudes (looking kind of awkard, actually). Nice work!

We spent some time in Shell Beach a few weeks ago. It was a pretty cold spring morning, but worth the trip. This one little bird was ridiculously courageous. He let me get so close to him without budging. So I just kept clickin' and he kept posing. I think he was on to my schemes, though. Once I got my last shot, he flew off and I came about 6 inches from getting pooped on.

Two Wheelin in Cayucos

We took the 2 wheel out last weekend. Carrie didn't want to drive - she figured she'd minimize her risk of losing me (and keep me from doing something crazy on 2 wheels) by riding on the same bike as me. She was right. Kept it nice and slow 'round the turns. At least I didn't do what I did last time.

We had a good time, we'll be back on the bikes again! Thanks mom and dad for letting us use 'em.

Spears in Burbank and Disneyland

We took a road trip to Burbank this past weekend. We love our friends - the Spears - so much that we had to travel down and see them. Jeremy works at Disney in the Animation Studios, and Lisa is an architect. They're loads of fun. Since Jeremy works at Disney, he has super secret VIP passes that even get people like us in the park for free! So we had a blast. Rode thunder mountain 4 times. And I mastered the Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, which was definitely my highlight.

Ridiculous Record Breaking Temperatures

I'm hot. I was welcomed home from work today with a 90-degree indoor temperature. It was a little toasty today ... 104° in San Luis Obispo today according to Google. Let's hope this doesn't happen again soon.

See it for yourself... I tell no lie!

Sunset Drive In and some Beach Bocce Ball

We've been eager to welcome the summer this year, though "summer" doesn't mean much change anymore (as it did years ago), other than warmer days and more evening sunlight. We have aspirations for summer camping trips to Big Sur and Santa Barbara, fishing trips to Kings Canyon, and time with family and friends when not on the jobs.

To kickoff the summer, here are some of our most recent activities ...

A trip to the Sunset Drive In - San Luis Obispo's finest movie joint. We saw Indiana Jones, and were pleased with Harrison Ford's performance. We didn't stay for the second feature cause we were falling asleep!

I personally love hearing about the drive in's daytime "Super Sunday Swapmeet", where the aristocrats of society gather to trade goods. I've never been, but I've heard it's loads of fun.

We played some bocce ball at Cayucos beach with the family this weekend. Victories and teams were appropriately balanced. We ended the day with giant juicy burgers from Sylvesters.
